The Superlative Audio SAS-1LF is the first successful monopole electrostatic bass speaker. It has no “back wave” and disperses sound perfectly around a room. Its high speed response from 25Hz-400Hz gives new meaning to the term “fast” bass. A single cabinet can reproduce 40Hz at 95db SPL @ 3 ft. Two SAS-1LF cabinets per channel give a speaker system with 100db SPL acroos the full audio spectrum. The SAS-1LF’s line source dispersion means that the sound level only drops off as an inverse to the distance from the speaker rather than by spherical radiaton’s inverse square of the distance from the speaker.

The “infinite baffle” design of the cabinet has low “ringing” so there is no “hangover” from a ported speaker tuning system. The result is a speaker which perfectly matches the speed of any electrostatic without any of the lethargy experienced when pairing dynamic bass speakers with electrostatics or other fast dynamic loudspeakers.
